The Osher Center was featured at the “Consciousness, Science, Spirituality, and Social Impact” conference (in October 2023) – hosted by the BIDMC Sadhguru Center for a Conscious Planet at Harvard Medical School.
The two-day conference in Boston, MA convened physicists, neuroscientists, researchers and mystics. Osher Center Director, Dr. Peter Wayne moderated the closing panel on “Conscious Planet” which included Sadhguru, Dr. Helene Langevin, Director of the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Dr. Emeran Mayer, Director of the Oppenheimer Center for Neurobiology of Stress and Resilience at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and Ms. Aterah Nusrat, the Osher Center’s Planetary Health Director.
The rich discussion touched on the health of both the human gut and soil microbiomes, whole person health, the importance of indigenous land-based cultures in protecting biodiversity, and the pivotal role of recognizing that we ‘are nature’ and non-separate from the natural world.
