Speaker Bio:

From 1990–2018, Dr. Whitfield-Gabrieli held senior research faculty positions at Stanford University and MIT, after which she served as Professor of Psychology and Founding Director of the Northeastern University Biomedical Imaging Center (NUBIC) at Northeastern University. Her primary mission is to understand the brain basis of neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders and to translate this knowledge into clinical practice.

Description:

Dr. Whitfield-Gabrieli focuses on developing innovative neuroimaging tools that open new windows into brain network organization and function, with the goal of advancing biologically informed, personalized treatments for mental health. Her current work seeks to uncover system-wide brain–body signatures that unify neural circuitry with physiological and cellular/metabolic processes underlying mental health.
