Description:

This Grand Rounds will explore innovative, evidence-informed approaches to optimizing physical and mental resilience across the lifespan, grounded in military medicine and integrative health. Dr. Matta will share insights from the Intensive Clinical Program’s Mission Ready Acupuncture Protocol (MRAP) group acupuncture model and the Comprehensive Brain Health and Trauma (ComBHaT) program, highlighting how these interventions enhance recovery, readiness, and HealthSpan for both warriors and the broader population.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Sofia Matta is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and is board certificated in Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Brain Injury Medicine. Dr. Matta has worked in military medicine at US Army Fort Drum and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton’s Intrepid Spirit Center. She is an Instructor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a trained medical acupuncturist, providing acupuncture services to Veterans as part of the Intensive Clinical Program and Comprehensive Brain Health and Trauma (ComBHaT) Program.
