Research Seminar: Walk Away from Cancer? Evaluating Linking Physical Activity and Malignancy

Physical activity, recent data suggests, may affect breast cancer risk and outcomes. This talk will discuss the relationship between energy balance—diet and exercise—and breast cancer prognosis.

Presenter: Dr. Jennifer Ligibel is the Director of the Leonard P. Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies  and a Senior Physician at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She received her MD from Washington University in St. Louis and did her residency in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital. After completing a Medical Oncology Fellowship at the Dana-Farber, she joined the Women’s Cancer Program in 2001. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ligibel is interested in the biological impact of exercise on the body. She currently studies the relationship between energy balance — diet and exercise — and breast cancer prognosis.
