We are pleased to present the recording from the most recent lecture of our quarterly seminar series, Scientific Frontiers of Healing: Emerging Mechanisms, Integrative Implications. In “Wired for Wellness: Bioelectrical Mechanisms, the Interstitium, and the Whole-Body Signaling System of Acupuncture“, Dr. Andrew Ahn took us to the frontiers of integrative health research, exploring how bioelectrical signaling, the interstitium, and acupuncture may be interconnected in ways that deepen our understanding of how the body communicates and heals. Dr. Ahn offered a fascinating look into how these interconnected systems may reshape our understanding of whole-body communication, healing, and integrative medicine.
Speaker Bio: Andrew Ahn, MD, MPH
Dr. Ahn is Core Leader of Leveraging Technology for Integrative Health at the Osher Center, an internal medicine physician, former MIT Advanced Study Fellow in biological engineering, researcher of acupuncture mechanisms, lead medical advisor for the prize-winning Team Dynamical Biomarkers (Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE), and Chief Medical Officer of a digital health startup. Scientific Frontiers of Healing — Emerging Mechanisms, Integrative Implicationsis work sits at the intersection of biophysics, physiology, and traditional healing arts. This series will draw on that experience to probe plausible mechanisms underlying integrative therapies – and to frame testable questions for research and clinical translation.
