Aterah Nusrat, MSc. DIC

Ms. Nusrat served as the Osher Center’s Program Manager between 2014-2020 and returned to the Osher Center in 2022 as Senior Program Manager and Director of Programming in Integrative Medicine and Planetary Health. Her restructured role aligns with her academic and professional background in environmental sustainability and personal experience as a seasoned meditation practitioner. Her 25+ years in industry span program and event management, marketing, market research, communications and grant management.

In the UK, Ms. Nusrat received her MSc. in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, University of London. As a sustainability coordinator for seven years in the non-profit sector, among other environmental sustainability initiatives, she co-created the ‘fonesforsafety’ (TM) program, which she then scaled up to a national program that was recognized by the British Prime Minister’s Office for services to people impacted by domestic abuse.

After moving to the US in 2007, Ms. Nusrat worked in the environmental and personal development sectors, including meditation and mindfulness programs.

Throughout her six years as Program Manager for the Osher Center since 2014, Ms. Nusrat supported the Osher Center’s core administrative and financial operations, pilot research grants, marketing and communications and event management, including the successful delivery of our signature Integrative Medicine Network Forums. From 2018-2019 she gained certificates in climate change and health from the Yale School of Public Health and HarvardX and co-authored the article, “Integrative Medicine is a Good Prescription for Patients and Planet.”

Prior to returning to the Osher Center in 2022, Ms. Nusrat worked in local government where she secured over $1 million in grant funding for local government sustainability projects and managed a neighborhood level sustainability education and adaptation program.
