Research Seminar: Yoga for Chronic Low Back Pain

Presenter: Robert Saper, MD, MPH is an associate professor of family medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine, and Director of the Boston Medical Center Program for Integrative Medicine and Health Care Disparities.  He has over 25 years of experience building research, educational, and clinical programs in patient-centered integrative medicine.  Dr. Saper graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1988 and UCSF family medicine residency in 1992.  After 8 years of private practice in the San Francisco Bay area, he completed the three year Harvard Medical School Integrative Medicine Research Fellowship, and founded the BMC Program for Integrative Medicine and Health Care Disparities in 2004.  Dr. Saper also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine and Health.  His research interests include integrative medicine for the underserved, yoga for chronic back pain, and traditional Indian medicine.
