CBCT® (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training) coming to New England in April

CBCT® (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training) is a meditation protocol with the primary aim of helping to sustain a genuine compassionate responsiveness while buffering against negative effects of empathic fatigue and burnout.

CBCT has been widely researched with a number of promising outcomes, including: increased resilience to stress, improved empathic accuracy, decreased depression and loneliness, and increased hopefulness.

Developed in 2005 by Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi, PhD, a former monk and current professor of religion at Emory University, CBCT is drawn from of a set of ancient Indo-Tibetan practices and carefully adapted to support individuals of any – or no – faith tradition.

CBCT is being offered by the Cambridge Health Alliance Center for Mindfulness & Compassion in collaboration with Emory University.
